What is Kinesiology?

Kinesiology is the science of human movement, applying the latest evidenced-based research to improve body function, health and wellness of people with any physical condition.

Is Kinesiology a regulated profession?

Yes, In Ontario exists “College of Kinesiology of Ontario” that develops all the rules to regulate the profession. These rules are for protecting public’s rights.

Who founded Fit After 50?

Our organization was founded by Andres Palomino, a Reg, Kinesiologist with more than 10 years of experience in the health promotion field.

Do I have to be over 50 to take the sessions?

Definitely not!  We focus on 50+ people but we are able to design Kinesiology / wellness programs for anyone.

Do I need a referral to take Fit After 50 sessions?

We accept clients on a referral or a non-referral basis.

Are Fit After 50 services covered by insurance?

Some extended health care insurance include Kinesiology services and / or treatments and assessments under the scope of practice of kinesiology.

You can use your Health Spending Account which is a pre-determined amount of money provided to employees at the beginning of each benefit year for coverage of their medical expenses. Kinesiology qualify under this category.

Kinesiology services in Ontario can now claim it as an eligible medical expense on the Canada Revenue Agency. See here more information.

We also accept Veterans Affairs Canada insurance.

I’ve never exercised before. Is that a problem?

Don’t worry! We assess your health and fitness level and then design the right Kinesiology / wellness program for you.

I feel too old and weak. Can I take Fit After 50 sessions anyway?

Absolutely yes! Exercise is very important in your case.
