We offer the following classes and workshops for retirement residents and community groups.
FITNESS CLASSES
Participants can take part in 60 minute fitness classes at your location.
- Active on Chair: The exercises are designed to improve muscle tone, flexibility and endurance. “Active on Chair” is ideal for those with arthritis, osteoporosis or those first starting an exercise program. During the class, participants will be using hand weights, exercise bands, ankle weights and weighed balls to help them to become stronger and healthier.
- Fall Prevention: The class is designed to help 60+ people stay healthy, active, and mobile. The class is ideal for people who want to have an active healthy lifestyle and prevent and/or reduce falls. The class focuses on exercise to improve and maintain balance, muscle strength, mobility, cardio strength and flexibility.
- Mental Fitness: This class incorporates physical and cognitive exercises with group dynamics to improve memory, attention, socialization and physical health. This class is ideal for anyone who wants to continue being active, mentally sharp and a connected social member of the community.
Rate: $ 100 CAD + HST
WORKSHOPS
We offer educational talks and workshops to empower participants about how to improve their lives by taking care of both body and mind.
- Exercise is Medicine: Learn how regular exercise can prevent and manage chronic conditions. Walk a way with new ideas and insights about how exercise can improve quality of life. Also, you will be able to create your own fitness and wellness plan.
- Be Active at Home: Learn the importance of active living and how you can achieve it. Also, learn to identify fall risk factors. Walk away with key exercises you can do in your home to maintain your functional fitness.
- Mental Fitness: Learn physical and cognitive exercises with group dynamics to improve memory, attention, socialization and physical health.
Rate: $175 + HST per workshop
